May 2026 Sunday Services

Sunday May 3, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Gail and Mike DeVilbiss will present this in-person service that celebrates Unitarian Universalism and the leadership of the Unitarian Universalist Association. The history of the UU faith is necessary to build a strong foundation to who we are. When attending our weekly services, you may not be aware of the history and function of the UUA. For 50 plus years the UUA has been allied with the United Nations in the development and implication of UN doctrines. This relationship involved instrumental support from Illinois UU’s. This relationship with the UN solidifies our commitment to our UU principles. Visitors are welcome. Please join us for coffee, snacks and conversation downstairs following the service.

Sunday May 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Nathan Blasdel will lead this in-person service, “A Mother’s Lesson: There’s Power in a Name.” Nathan will share a message about names, “specifically my mother’s, mine, my siblings’ and my wife’s names; and the meanings/stories behind them.” In addition, Nathan is curating a playlist on Spotify titled: “The Mothers That Made Us.” Nathan shares, “I am polling all the people I know that have a mother/stepmother, have lost a mother, have been a mother/stepmother, have dreamt of being a mother but couldn’t be due to infertility, or have lost a child. Basically anything and everything about being a mother, good, bad, ugly, painful, sweet, angry, whatever emotions mother’s day stirs in you.” If you have a song for inclusion in the playlist project, please send by Fri 5/8 to nathan.blasdel@gmail.com or FB messenger @nathanblasdel.
