March 2023 Sunday Services

On Sunday March 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., please join us in-person service , “A World Without Complaints,” led by Gail DeViIlbiss.  According to research the average person complains fifteen to thirty times a day. Random Complaining constitutes destructive behavior that can lead to unhappiness, poor health,  and an overall negative outlook. Maya Angelou once said “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain.” Listen and learn what constitutes a complaint, why it is so harmful to your health and well being, and best of all how you can make yourself and others stop complaining for a more peaceful world. Please join us downstairs after the service for coffee and conversation.

On  Sunday, March 12, at 10:00 a.m., please join us for this in-person service on the theme of Women’s History Month, led by Susan Trotter and Theresa Rowe. Some readings are selected for the service, but you are also welcome to bring a reading to share. This Sunday, remember to set your clocks forward.

On Sunday, March 19, at 10:00a.m., Mike DeVilbiss will lead this Music Service.  Please bring music to share, and Mike appreciates if you’ll let him know the name and length of the musical selection ahead of time.  Please join us at 1600 Isabella Avenue in Mt Vernon as we gather in fellowship.  Please  join us downstairs after the service for snacks, coffee, and conversation. The Board Meeting will follow the  social hour.

On Sunday, March 26, at 10:00 a.m., Luke Crawford will lead this Open Reading service on Zoom. You are invited to bring poetry, a reading, or music to share during the service. Luke suggests readings could be on the theme of Women’s History Month, or the Spring Equinox, or on other themes of your choice. If you have music to share, please email music links or files to lukesanfordcrawford@gmail. . As we believe there is no one right way to lead a religious or spiritual life and we value each individual’s spiritual journey, Open Readings services help us learn about each other’s paths, and can be some of our most special services. Visitors are welcome. For Zoom information please email information@mtvernonuuf.org . A virtual social hour follows the service.
