October 2022 Sunday Services

In October we will have in-person services the first four weeks of the month, and the last Sunday on Zoom. In keeping with our caring principles, masks are encouraged for in-person services. The Board will continue to assess the masking and in-person vs Zoom situation each month

On  Sunday, October 2, at 10:00 a.m., Mike DeVilbiss will lead another in-person “Open Music” service, comprised of music selections that attendees bring to share. Please choose a short piece of music, if you are inspired, and sign up at back of Fellowship Hall with the title, length, and musical artist. Music services have been inspirational and fun.   A social hour will follow the service.

On Sunday, October 9, at 10:00 a.m., Members of the congregation will present the in-person program with the theme of “Coming Out.”  A social hour will follow the service.

On Sunday, October 16, at 10:00a.m.,  Gail DeVilbiss will lead this  in-person “Animal Service” A social hour will follow the service. The Board Meeting will follow the  social hour.

On Sunday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m., the Mt. Vernon Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will hold its first “Discussion Service.”  We will select a discussion topic at random from a collection of ethical issues, after which Mike DeVilbiss will lead a discussion in which everyone is invited to participate.  Please join us at 1600 Isabella Avenue in Mt Vernon as we gather in fellowship.  Visitors are welcome to join us downstairs after the service for snacks, coffee, and conversation.

On Sunday, October 30, at 10:00 a.m., Luke Crawford will lead this Open Reading service on Zoom. You are invited to bring poetry, a reading, or music to share during the service. If you have music to share, please email music links or files to lukesanfordcrawford@gmail.com . As we believe there is no one right way to lead a religious or spiritual life and we value each individual’s spiritual journey, Open Readings services help us learn about each other’s paths, and can be some of our most special services. Visitors are welcome. For Zoom information please email information@mtvernonuuf.org . A virtual social hour follows the service.

Please check back through the month for updates. Please join us after Sunday services for coffee and conversation.
